EVANSTON, Ill. (August 13, 2024) – From the program 10th Appearance at the NCAA Championships, head coach of the Northwestern University women’s golf team Emily Fletcher announced the Wildcats’ schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 season on Tuesday. The “Cats” will participate in eight regular season tournaments before the postseason games.

After lifting the curtain on the new team at the Mason Rudolph Championship Sept. 20-22 in Franklin, Tennessee, Fletcher’s team will now be in action at home when it hosts the Windy City Collegiate Classic at Westmoreland Country Club in nearby Wilmette, Illinois. The event, scheduled for Sept. 30-Oct. 1, regularly draws one of the strongest fields in all of college golf and includes several nationally ranked teams.

Less than two weeks later, the ‘Cats will travel across the pond to take part in the St. Andrews Links Collegiate in St. Andrews, Scotland, where they will compete alongside the University of St. Andrews, Arizona, and Howard in a three-day event, with the final round played on the historic Old Course at St. Andrews.

Following a trip to Florida over Martin Luther King Day weekend, Jan. 18-20, Northwestern officially opens its spring season with a visit to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, for the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, Feb. 2-4. The “Cats” return to the Sunshine State to compete in the Moon Golf Invitational, Feb. 16-18, in Melbourne, Florida, before opening the month of March at the prestigious Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, March 3-5, in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

Northwestern has the opportunity to defend two team titles to conclude the regular season as it competes in the PING/ASU Invitational March 28-30 and the Silverado Showdown April 7-9 in preparation for the postseason. The Wildcats have won the team title in both events each of the past two seasons.

The postseason begins April 18-20 when Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Maryland, once again hosts the Big Ten Conference Women’s Golf Championships.

The NCAA regional matches are scheduled for May 5-7, while the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships return to the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, May 16-21.

Fletcher has been named Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year six times and is expected to welcome back six key players from last season’s squad, including the 2023-24 All-Big Ten Conference honorees. Lauryn Nguyen And Ashley Yunwho was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. The ‘Cats will also welcome a talented trio of freshmen in their first years Elise Lee, Megan MengAnd Hsin Tai Lin.
