Food Truck Tuesday benefits the Matanzas High School Band of Pirates and the Color Guard Booster Club

The City of Palm Coast Food Truck Tuesday returns next Tuesday, August 20th. Proceeds from this month’s event will benefit the Matanzas High School Band of Pirates and Color Guard Booster Club.

This will be the first Food Truck Tuesday event for the organization, which is comprised of parents and guardians of band and color guard members who help cover the costs of band events, travel, materials and program scholarships through their various fundraisers throughout the year.

“Band membership gives our students a sense of community while allowing them to learn life skills that can have a tremendous impact well beyond the years they are in the program,” said Booster Club President Staci Palmer Barra. “We are grateful to be able to participate in events like Food Truck Tuesday, engage our community, and support efforts to provide a special experience for each student.”

Drum Majors Reina Harper and Erica Rimstidt, both incoming 12th graders in the class of 2025 at Matanzas High School, emphasized the importance of camaraderie in leading the more than 120 students who participate in the band program and in serving as role models for the incoming freshmen currently attending Summer Band Camp in preparation for the school year.

“The whole point of our band camp is to make everyone feel welcome and become a family together,” Harper says. “It’s a way for us to build that bond that really allows us to communicate effectively as a unit while having fun,” she added. “For me, music is really about finding that sense of community and creating a sense of belonging where everyone feels welcome to do their best work,” Rimstidt said.

Food Truck Tuesday will be held on Tuesday, August 20th from 5-8pm and will feature lots of fun for the whole family including a DJ, face painting and a special performance by the MHS band. The food trucks participating in the event this month are the following:
