Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai. The wedding was attended by close friends and family members. In a new interview with Galatta India, the two shared what they think was the most magical moment of their wedding day. Zaheer further explained why this was the moment when the kanyadaan took place. What Sonakshi and Zaheer said

During the interview, when the two were asked to individually recall the most magical moment of their wedding, they agreed that it was the Kanyadan. Zaheer said, “I think it was the most beautiful moment of my life and it was so beautiful. The Kanyadan was delayed by 15 minutes and when we finally sat down, I was holding her hand and we were praying. Suddenly Sona said, ‘Can you hear that?’ I asked, ‘What?’ She replied, ‘The azaan is going on,’ and it was such a beautiful moment. The pandit was praying, reciting the mantras and the azaan was going on in the background while we got married. It felt like a divine intervention.”

Sonakshi also nodded in agreement and said, “It was divine!”

Sonakshi and Zaheer dated for seven years before getting married on June 23, 2017, the day they started dating. They hosted a grand reception at Mumbai’s Bastian restaurant on the same day. “On this day seven years ago (06/23/2017), we saw love in its purest form in each other’s eyes and decided to hold on to it. Today, that love has taken us through all the challenges and triumphs… to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and our two Gods… we are now husband and wife,” they wrote in the caption of the joint Instagram post.
