Perinton, NY – A popular annual charity event is moving to a new location.
The Saint’s Place Super Sale began Wednesday morning at St. John of Rochester Church in Perinton with a first chance sale.
The new location offers slightly less space but more parking than the previous location at St. Louis Church in Pittsford.
“We have been members of St. John of Rochester Church for about 15 years and are now moving all of our facilities here so we will have everything in one place,” said Michele Quinn, executive director of Saint’s Place. “It will be much more effective, convenient and efficient for us, and we will be able to do more for the refugees.”
Saint’s Place helps refugees settle into the community by providing beds, mattresses, clothing and other items. The organization said it helped a record 1,630 newly arrived refugees in the last fiscal year and expects that trend to continue.

“We recently took in a refugee who was training to be a professional driver, and we are funding that,” Quinn said. “We are trying to help refugees take their first steps in the United States and give them a good start to a better future.”
Items for sale include handbags, jewelry, dishes, glassware, small kitchen appliances, furniture, linens, electronics, books, toys, artwork, sporting goods, bicycles, clothing, collectibles and more – all donated by the community.
Buyer Jean Fontana of Irondequoit said the sale was the best of its kind in the area.
“It’s No. 1 because there’s so much, it’s well organized and it’s huge,” she said. “I highly recommend it.”
The super sale continues on Thursday from 10am to 7pm, with a half-price sale on Friday from 10am to 6pm. Entry is free.
The event ends on Sunday with a bag sale from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first bag is $15, and each additional bag is $5. Only bags provided by Saint’s Place may be used.
“Everything is nice and clean,” Fontana said. “Usually at flea markets or street markets everything is dirty, but here everything is clean.”
