Headlines

Chief’s Intention: The fire in Boise will be fought with a comprehensive firefighting strategy.

Operational update: Crews have been working along the roads near Short Ranch and on Le Perron Flat where possible to establish containment lines as close to the edge of the fire as possible to protect private property in those areas. A structure group is on site to provide structure protection should it become necessary. Firefighters are attempting to establish containment lines for the 2020 Red Salmon Fire on the south side of the Boise Fire and to the east along Orleans Look out Road/Antennae Ridge.

Weather and fire behavior: The weather is expected to continue to be slightly cooler today with humidity levels recovering well overnight, although the inversion is less pronounced than forecast. A very slight chance of thunderstorms is forecast over northeast Trinity County today. The fire is currently in line with several drainage systems with very heavy vegetation loading. This could result in an active fire.
