CECIL CO. – The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the discovery of skeletal remains near Conowingo Creek.

Investigators said they were notified of the discovery of skeletal remains on the banks of Conowingo Creek on Thursday, August 8.

This portion of the creek flows through a campground on Camp Shadow Brook Road, officials said.

Cecil County Sheriff’s Detectives called on the Maryland State Police’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and Crime Scene Investigation Unit to assist in their investigation.

The remains were removed from the area and sent to the coroner for further examination.

The sheriff’s office said they are aware of a missing adult male from Pennsylvania and are cooperating with Pennsylvania State Police in the investigation.
