The cable television network Bounce is for sale

Last April, CNBC learned that EW Scripps, the owners of the Bounce TV network, had hired a bank to explore a possible sale of the network. Now, Scripps, Bounce’s parent company, has confirmed that the network is for sale, and there are a few potential buyers.

During EW Scripps’ second-quarter earnings call, CEO Adam Symons said, “We are making good progress with our efforts to sell the Bounce TV network and certain non-strategic real estate assets.”

This comes after Paramount Global made a failed attempt to sell BET last year, with reports suggesting the deal may not be completely off yet.

At Scripps, profits also fell from $60.3 million last year to just $37.7 million in 2024.

Bounce TV offers shows like Sherri, Karamo, NCIS New Orleans, In The Cut, And Family timeLike many other networks, Bounce is currently struggling with a difficult advertising market and declining viewership on cable television channels.

Details are still scarce, but CNBC reports that some of the same buyers who were interested in BET are now approaching EW Scripps to explore options for purchasing Bounce TV.

Bounce TV is the 43rd most watched TV channel in 2023, according to diversity. It was also one of the few networks that didn’t lose viewers that same year, making it an interesting opportunity for many potential buyers as most cable TV networks lose subscribers.

Bounce TV was recently added to Frndly TV, making it easier for cable-challenged viewers to receive. It is also available over the air for free with an antenna in many markets.
