Many are just experiencing the flooding, but many are already dealing with the aftermath. WTOC returned to Long County today, where one family says they lost everything.

As a result of the floods, many communities have begun setting up donation centers.

According to Effingham County EMA, you can donate bottled water or sports drinks, cleaning products, first aid kits, diapers, batteries, hygiene products, trash bags or work gloves to GLOW Ministries at 367 Fifth St in Meldrim.

GLOW Ministries is open Monday mornings from 9am to 3pm.

They said the list of items needed may change over the next few days.

The City of Richmond Hill has also set up a donation center. According to the City of Richmond Hill’s Facebook page, donations of nonperishable food, water and other essentials can be dropped off at New Life Church, 16252 Highway 144.

The Humane Society for Greater Savannah is also accepting donations of pet food for those affected by the floods.

In the city of Savannah, individuals wishing to donate items can contact the Salvation Army at 3100 Montgomery Street, which accepts donations 24 hours a day.

They also say that monetary donations can be made online here at the Rapid Response Disaster Fund.
