Eric Daman revealed Blake Lively’s inspiration behind a particular scene in her new film It ends with us.

The costume designer chatted exclusively with People magazine and talked about Lively’s costume for a brief wedding appearance of her role as Lily Bloom in the film.

Daman said the protagonist’s wedding scene was a moment you’d miss if you blinked, but Lively and Daman made sure they chose the perfect piece even for a lightning scene.

“We definitely wanted to incorporate unique vintage vibes,” Daman told the outlet where the inspiration for Lily’s wedding look came from.

“I remember texting Blake and asking, ‘Thoughts on the wedding?’ And she replied, ‘Priscilla.'”

When Daman came up with the idea of ​​recalling the look of Priscilla Presley’s 1967 wedding to Elvis Presley, he started looking at what modern pieces he could find.

“We went to great lengths to combine ’60s Priscilla Presley-style minis with matching coats and embellishments in cream and sorbet pastels,” he said.

“We chose this stunning, super chic piece from Happy Isles, paired with sheer pearl gloves from Anthropologie, Blake’s personal Louboutins and her jewelry. We paired two vintage veils from 1stDibs and voilà, Lily Bloom Bridal is born!” added Daman.

Elsewhere in the interview, Daman raved about Lively’s fashion sense.

“A lot of the jewelry came from her private collection,” he said, adding, “I had no budget for that. She has incredible taste and incredible things.”
