Acting Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule claimed on Sunday that her phone and WhatsApp had been hacked.

The NCP (SP) leader described the matter as “very serious” and added that she had nothing to hide in her phone.

Sule later filed a complaint with the Yavat police station and spoke to Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, who assured her of an investigation.

“Within hours, my phone and messaging service were restored,” Sule said.

“My phone and WhatsApp have started. The WhatsApp team has provided valuable support. A big thank you to the WhatsApp team and Pune Police for this. If anyone has messaged me in the meantime, I apologize for not being able to respond due to this technical glitch,” Sule said in a post on X.

Earlier, the MP from Baramati had asked people not to call or text her.

“Urgent: My phone and WhatsApp have been hacked. Please do not call or text me. I have asked the police for help,” the Lok Sabha MP said in an X-post.

“I came to know about it when I reached here (Pune) as WhatsApp was also not opening. So I asked Jayant Patil (NCP state unit chief) to check the phone and he sent a test message. Though my phone was switched off, he got a response from my number,” Sule said while addressing party workers at Patas in Pune district as part of the NCP (SP) Shiv-Swarajya Yatra.

A senior Pune rural police officer, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “An investigation is underway and technical details are being examined.”
