Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign hit first-week sales for “Vultures 2”

Last weekend, Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign finally released their highly anticipated collaborative album. Vulture 2. The album was released as a surprise, coming out after numerous delays, and has since garnered mixed reactions from listeners. While many are impressed, others feel that it left a lot to be desired and wasn’t necessarily worth the wait.

On Wednesday, Chart data reported that the album was on track to sell 68,000 units in its first week. While that’s no small feat, it’s a pretty low number for Ye. In fact, it would be only the second time he’s released an album that didn’t top the Billboard 200 chart. It was expected to debut at No. 2 instead, just behind Taylor Swift’s The “Tortured Poets” section.

Vultures 2 sells 107,000 album-equivalent units in its first week

Now the first week’s sales have officially arrived and they have exceeded expectations. According to HipHop-N-More, Vulture 2 sold 107,000 albums in its first week, 60,000 of which were pure sales. Of course, this number is still quite low compared to the first week sales of albums like Jesus is King or Donda. However, it seems that Ye has had bigger worries lately.

Last week, his former chief of staff Milo Yiannopoulos accused Ye’s dentist of encouraging his alleged laughing gas addiction, which left his fans incredibly worried. #SaveYe even became a trend on X, although he has yet to comment on the shocking claims. What do you think about Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s new album selling 107,000 copies in its first week? Are you surprised they exceeded expectations?
