My $1.25 shower gel is “literally the same” as the $10 department store one that influencers love — you won’t know the difference
A BEAUTY fan has shared a copy of a popular, more expensive shower gel.
She explained that despite the cheaper price, the products were almost identical.
Richelle Robinson (@richellerrobinson) shared the beauty tip in a TikTok video.
She compared Personal Care’s Coconut Vanilla scented shower gel to Native’s $10 Coconut Vanilla version, a shower gel popular with influencers.
Richelle explained that although the Dollar Tree version only cost her $1.25, she found that the ingredient list was consistent.
“It’s pretty much the same,” she said.
“They may use different surfactants, etc., etc., but it’s literally the same thing.”
She added that she didn’t notice any difference when showering either.
“If you close your eyes, you won’t notice the difference at all.”
While the Native version smelled “a little nuttier” to her and the Dollar Tree version leaned more like “coconut with a little sugar,” she reiterated that they were “literally the same.”

While Native’s shower gel is sulfate-free, Dollar Tree’s imitation is paraben-free.
After testing the two products on the back of her hand, she found that the consistency was also the same.
“They smell the same on the skin,” she added.
Viewers thanked her for the helpful demonstration video and recommendation.
“I’m going to stock up on Dollar Tree knockoffs because I’m broke,” said one commenter.
“We’re all broke. Go get them,” Richelle replied.
“I always thought I would never use cheap stuff on my body or face, but here I have a complete collection of almost every shower gel scent from Dollar Tree and I love it,” said another.
“They are really good.”
“Great review, I bought all three today,” said a third.
“I took all eight bottles of coconut from my store,” admitted a fourth.
Anyone who tried it themselves was pleasantly surprised.
“Got some today and the smell is better than my Native,” said one commenter.
“It’s crazy, I like the Dollar Tree one better!” agreed another.
