As you might expect, not every parent wants to equip their child with a phone, especially given the increasing number of cyberbullying cases and the huge distraction that cyberbullying represents in school. Fortunately, there are Fitbit Ace 2 is a stripped-down alternative that maintains its all-time low price of $199.95 ($30 off) through August 25 on Amazon, Best Buy, and the Google Store.

Unlike most smartwatches, the Ace LTE is aimed specifically at kids. The rugged watch has the same innards as Google’s Pixel Watch 2 and LTE connectivity that enables real-time calling, messaging, and location sharing. It also comes with a Tamagotchi-like buddy (nicknamed Eejie) and several wrist-mounted video games that require kids to meet various exercise goals to access. Additionally, Fitbit recently introduced a tap-to-pay feature that lets kids with a Greenlight or GoHenry account—both of which offer debit cards for kids and teens—make purchases anywhere Google Pay is accepted.

The big downside to Fitbit’s latest wearable is that you need a subscription for $9.99 a month or $120 a year to use its LTE-based features. However, you don’t need a phone or a carrier to use the Ace LTE. Plus, Google is offering 50% off a yearly subscription to Ace Pass through August 31, bringing the total price of the watch and data plan down to just $260.
