Police have released photos of the suspect wanted in connection with the attempted rape of a woman on the Upper East Side on Saturday.

Police have released surveillance images of the man who made headlines for allegedly attempting to rape a young woman on the Upper East Side on Saturday.
Police are asking the public for help in identifying the perpetrator wanted for a sexual assault that occurred early on the morning of August 10. Previously, a series of surveillance photos were released from the scene where the suspect allegedly assaulted a woman near Gracie Mansion.
The horrific incident occurred at about 1:20 a.m. on the corner of East 90th Street and York Avenue, according to police. Authorities say a 19-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when the attacker threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.
According to police, a doorman standing nearby heard the victim’s screams and rushed to intervene, after which the suspect fled east along 90th Street toward FDR Drive.
Police officers from the 19th Precinct arrived at the scene, while paramedics took the woman to Weill Cornell Medical Center with minor injuries.
The NYPD described the suspect as approximately 5’9″ tall. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, blue jeans and colorful shoes.
