Secret Service must apologize for breaking into salon and using bathroom for two hours at Kamala Harris fundraiser

  • The Secret Service is already under surveillance after the assassination attempt on Trump

The owner of a Massachusetts salon feels “raped” after the US Secret Service broke into her business during a nearby fundraiser for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Footage from a Ring security camera shows an agent approaching the front door of the store in Berkshire, Massachusetts, last week before returning to cover the video camera.

Alicia Powers, the salon’s owner, said that after the camera was turned on, agents broke into the building by picking the lock and then allowed several people to use the bathroom inside over a two-hour period.

He has come under increasing scrutiny since the Secret Service protected the most prominent US politicians following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. Now he is forced to apologize for this faux pas, which was far less risky.

After Business Insider called the agency about the bizarre case, Powers said a representative from the Secret Service’s Boston field office called to apologize.

Footage obtained by Ring shows a Secret Service agent taping over a salon’s security camera before breaking into the business and allowing several people to use the restroom for two hours during a nearby fundraiser for Kamala Harris.

“He told me that everything that was done was completely wrong,” Powers told Insider. “They shouldn’t have blocked my camera without permission. They shouldn’t have entered the building without permission.”

In addition, the building’s landlord, Brian Smith, confirmed that he never gave Secret Service agents permission to use or enter the building.

“My father and I own the building, and there’s a crazy, eccentric guy living upstairs,” Smith said. “And he didn’t tell the Secret Service they could use it, and I didn’t tell them, and my father didn’t tell them, and they had no permission to go in there at all.”

Powers said if she had been told that security at the fundraiser would have to be provided on her company’s premises, she would have opened her doors.

“Whoever was visiting, whether they were a celebrity or not, I probably would have opened the door, made them coffee and brought in doughnuts and given them a great afternoon,” Powers said.

“But they didn’t even have the nerve to ask for permission,” she added. “They just helped themselves.”

Just a few weeks ago, Kimberly Cheatle resigned as director of the Secret Service after Donald Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last month.

Due to agency negligence, the incident could not be discovered and intervened in time to prevent 20-year-old shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks from climbing onto a nearby roof and shooting the former president.

The bullet that grazed Trump’s ear was just inches from his head. Others at the rally were less fortunate: one died and two others suffered serious injuries before the Secret Service neutralized the shooter.

Social media is reporting outrage over the latest “violation,” calling the incident an “act of tyranny.”

“The salon owner needs to file a complaint with the local police. The agents should be arrested for this,” wrote one X user.

Another said: “This is an unforgivable act of tyranny by the Secret Service – a horrific abuse of power that spits in the face of every principle this country stands for.”

“Agents breaking into a private business, tampering with security, and treating a citizen’s property like their personal playground is nothing short of criminal,” they added. “This is not just a violation; it is a disgusting display of arrogance, a contemptuous disregard for the rule of law, and an affront to the rights of every American.”

“Heads must roll. Apologies are worthless. Responsibility is non-negotiable. This atrocity requires immediate, severe consequences.”
