The five best Sunday games to watch in Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season

  • WHERE: NRG Stadium (Houston)
  • WHEN: 1pm ET | CBS

This game should be one of the most competitive matchups of Week 5, with two AFC leaders sitting at 3-1.

Josh Allen and Co. suffered their first defeat last week, but are still playing very good football. For the first time in his seven-year career, Allen has zero interceptions in his first four games. Defensively, the Bills still need to work on their weaknesses in the run game, but their secondary and pass rush are completely broken, allowing just 16 passing yards per game when the quarterback is under pressure (fourth in the NFL).

Although there are some concerns about consistency, this is the good news for Houston CJ Stroud And Nico Collins have proven to be a very threatening duo for the opposing defense. Collins leads the league in receiving yards with 489, while Stroud continues to impress in his own way. Defensively, the loss to Minnesota exposed some of the Texans’ weaknesses, but they rank in the top five in sacks (14) and yards per game (273.8), which will certainly make Allen’s job difficult.

NFL Pro Insight for Bills-Texans

Josh Allen has targeted the slot at the sixth highest rate this season (34.7%). He achieved a success rate of 68.6%, the highest in the league. Allen has also posted an 82.9% completion rate and +0.73 EPA per dropback, both of which rank second in the NFL.

The Texans’ defense has allowed a 54.3% completion rate and just 4.3 yards per attempt on passes aimed at the slot this season, both the best in the NFL.
