Mets vs. Brewers score, live updates: Game 3 of the NL Wild Card Series is the first win-win matchup this postseason

With three of the four 2024 MLB Wild Card Playoff series ending in two-game rounds, the stage is set for Game 3 between the New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday in Milwaukee. After clinching a playoff spot in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday, the Mets carried that momentum into a win in Game 1 behind a strong performance from Luis Severino and two RBI nights each from Mark Vientos, Jesse Winker and JD Martinez in the 8th game -4 win.

On Wednesday, rookie leadoff man Jackson Chourio saved the Brewers’ season with two home runs, including a game-winning solo shot in the eighth inning. Garrett Mitchell followed with his own two-run blast to put the Brewers in front from a 3-1 deficit to win 5-3.

In Game 3, Jose Quintana (10-10, 3.75 ERA) for the Mets battles Tobias Myers (9-6, 3.00 ERA) for a chance to advance to the NLDS to face the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday.
