ForbesToday’s NYT “Connections” tips and answers for Wednesday, October 2nd

Happy Thursday, folks! I hope you’ve had a fantastic week so far.

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers are coming soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be items you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution and you need to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure that this doesn’t happen with the help of some pointers and if you really have difficulties, even with today’s ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

It’s not a perfect game today, but I’ll take two wins in a row. This is what happened to me:

At first I had an inkling that there might be something to the combination of PUNCH and SOCK, but I decided to try a different direction first and guessed a group of JUICE, WATER, SODA and SOCK. One gone, but one less life.

Then the EARBUD caught my eye as they usually come in pairs. As I looked around the starting lineup, the Blues were coming together. FERTILIZING, CUTTING, WATER and MILK seemed like things you would do on a farm back then. Once again one was gone and another lost his life. I swapped PLUM for JUICE, to no avail. However, through the elimination process I was finally able to get the yellow card (I’m not a very logical thinker, but I’ll accept that!).

This meant that PRUNE, FERTILIZER and WATER formed three quarters of a group. The only other word that actually made sense was POT, so I was happy to get the greens. This left the purple group, whose connection I couldn’t figure out, a narrow victory.

That’s all for today Connections Hints and answers. Be sure to check out my blog for tips and the walkthrough for Friday’s game if you need them.

PS: It’s that time of year when I start recommending some scary movies. Let’s start with monster house, a fantastic, underrated animated gem from 2006 that the whole family can enjoy. I’ve wanted to make scary movies for kids for a long time, and this is a great example of how to do it right:
