Adam Brody is skeptical about the Dave Rygalski hype Gilmore Girls best friend.

The 44-year-old actor, who made his big break playing Dave Rygalski in season three, recently made a shocking remark about the hype surrounding the character.

In an Instagram video posted by ELLE MagazineBrody says his short-lived character of the sweet and lovable guitarist was overly romanticized.

“No, he wasn’t there that long,” he said Nobody wants that Star said of his role as Dave Rygalski, who begins a romance with Lane Kim (Keiko Agena).

“We don’t know how he would have fared in the long run,” the actor joked.

“He could have been a love bomb,” he added of Dave – who won fans over when he told his lover’s deeply religious, strict and controlling mother that he stayed up all night reading the whole Bible and Taking Lane to the prom.

While Mrs. Kim eventually relented, Dave and Lane’s romance was short-lived as he went to college in California. Although they took the risk from afar, they eventually broke up.

Lane married her bandmate Zack Van Gerbig, played by Todd Lowe, and had children.

Gilmore Girls ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007 The CW.
