Another former adviser to former President Trump bucked the party and voted for Vice President Harris.

Cassidy Hutchinson, who served as an adviser to former Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, spoke to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell on Wednesday about who she will vote for in the November election. Hutchinson came into the national spotlight after she testified in 2022 before the House special committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack.

“First of all, I’ve known for quite some time that I would never vote for Donald Trump again in my life,” Hutchinson said Wednesday on MSNBC.

“I also knew for a long time that whether the candidate would eventually be Joe Biden, now Kamala Harris, I would cast my vote for one of the two candidates, now Kamala Harris and Tim Walz,” she added.

During an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday, Hutchinson called out the GOP enablers.

“A nation divided cannot exist. And that’s why I’m grateful for leaders like Liz Cheney who have not only stood out but shown us that despite political cowardice, it is possible to do the right thing, even when it is difficult,” she said.

Hutchinson said she understands that the decision about who to vote for is “often deeply intimate and personal” and that she doesn’t want to tell people who to vote for. However, she said her experience in the Trump White House led her to support Harris.

“But in my experience the first option is to be close to Donald Trump, to see his character, to know who he is, to believe him when he tells us who he is and also who he considers his vice presidential nominee, JD. “Vance, that’s a whole other issue, it’s just a despicable representation of the Republican Party,” she said.

“As a conservative, I am really, really proud to have the opportunity to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in this election. Politics is important. It is very important to me. And there may be few issues that Kamala Harris and I agree on. I hope we can agree on many more issues,” she continued.

Hutchinson also praised Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) for being from the working class, saying they were “the people that Donald Trump claimed to represent but whose support she actually exploited and manipulated.” .”

She then issued a stark warning to Republicans who were afraid of abandoning their party.

“So I say to Republicans who may still be on the fence: I understand how scary it can be to potentially break with your own party. I also understand that there are concerns and legitimate concerns about inflation, but Donald Trump and JD Vance cannot be trusted when it comes to the Constitution, they cannot be trusted to uphold our rule of law, and they cannot be trusted do not trust that they will implement responsible policies. ” she added.

Dozens of Republicans and former Trump aides came out in support of Harris ahead of the November election. The Harris campaign has touted its support within the GOP and highlighted how many Republicans have defected to the vice president.

The Harris campaign launched a new ad Thursday titled “Unstable Threat” in which former Trump officials warn of a second Trump term.
