Melania Trump passionately defends the right to abortion in a heated argument with Donald

Former First Lady Melania Trump reportedly vocally supports abortion rights in her “deeply personal” new memoir, despite Donald Trump playing a pivotal role in rolling back abortion protections.

“Why should anyone other than women have the power to decide what they do with their own bodies?” Melania Trump writes in the upcoming issue Melaniaaccording to a review copy from The Guardian. “A woman’s fundamental right to individual freedom and her own life gives her the power to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes.”

“Restricting a woman’s right to decide whether to terminate an unwanted pregnancy is the same as denying her control over her own body. I have carried this belief with me throughout my adult life,” she reportedly writes elsewhere.

Melania reportedly argues in the book that there are “numerous reasons” beyond basic rights why a woman might want an abortion, including a dangerous pregnancy or a pregnancy related to rape or incest.

Melania Trump’s memoir, which former President Trump said last month he had not yet read, comes out next week.

The reported comments come as the Trump presidential campaign’s pro-abortion stance has returned to the national spotlight after vice presidential candidate JD Vance made false claims about his past support for a national abortion ban.

During the debate, Vance falsely claimed that he had “never supported a national abortion ban” but instead supported “a national minimum standard.”

However, during a 2022 podcast recording, the U.S. senator for Ohio said he “certainly wishes abortion were illegal nationwide.”

Donald Trump has said he will veto a national abortion ban and leave policy on the issue to the states.

The conservative Supreme Court justices Trump appointed during his term were the driving force behind the Supreme Court’s repeal of constitutional protections for abortion rights in 2022.

“Today’s decision is the biggest LIFE WIN in a generation,” Trump, now out of the White House, said at the time, saying the decision was made “because I did everything as promised, including the nomination and the “Receiving three high honors.” Distinguished and strong constitutionalists confirmed to the Supreme Court of the United States.”

The Supreme Court’s decision led to a wave of new abortion bans across the country. With a few exceptions, the procedure is now banned in 14 states and severely restricted in others.

Since then, pregnant women across the country have faced life-threatening medical complications under the new healthcare system.

The Harris campaign has repeatedly referenced the story of Amber Thurman, a 28-year-old from Georgia who died from complications during an abortion when doctors waited 20 minutes to operate. Her family blames the death on Georgia’s six-week abortion ban, which was passed in 2022.
