DC welcomes new season of Love is Blind with local watch parties

Love has officially reached the nation’s capital, Washington, DC

Major streaming giant Netflix announced that the seventh season of “Love Is Blind” would follow 29 singles — ages 27 to 37 in the DC area — and of course, DMV residents gathered on Wednesday for “Love Is Blind.” “parties all over the city.

At least 100 guests gathered at Lulu’s Winegarden to kick off the seventh season of the hit show.

The restaurant even had replicas of gold wine glasses as seen in the Netflix hitmaker reality series.

Paul Carlson, the owner of Lulu’s Winegarden, said they received at least 120 reservations for tonight’s wake party – but some attendees were turned away due to capacity.

While this is the first time the wine bar has hosted a Love Is Blind watch party, Carlson is no stranger to hosting grandiose events — he traditionally hosts various Bravo show watch parties.

“We just feel that in the same way that you go to places to watch sports games, there should be a place where you can watch some of those shows,” Carlson told 7News. “A lot of people love it, they love talking about it, and so why not have a place where people can come together and watch it together?”

Carlson said it was also a great way to bounce back after the pandemic.

“Things have been a little difficult for restaurants since the pandemic, so I think it’s great to have a place where people can get out of their homes, not only to eat and drink, but also to come together as a group or as a community “Great for.” the community,” Carlson said.

As the Season 7 cast looks for love, some D.C. residents say it’s not as easy as many think.

“So many people are so career focused that relationships are no longer viable,” Carlin Fisher told 7News.

The 26-year-old single attended the watch party with a group of friends on Wednesday evening.

However, many residents believe that there is still love and that there will be love in Season 7, DC Edition.

“I think at least two or three couples will find love,” Fisher said.

Carlson said that The Garden will air the first two episodes released on Wednesday and that they will continue to show the episodes over the next four weeks leading up to the season finale.
