Colin Farrell’s Sugar Renewed for Season 2 at Apple

Detective John Sugar returns.

Apple has renewed the Colin Farrell-led drama series Sugar for a second season.

In the first season of the detective drama, Farrell’s Sugar, a private investigator hired by Hollywood titan Jonathan Siegel, played by James Cromwell, investigated the mysterious disappearance of his granddaughter Olivia, played by Sydney Chandler.

(SPOILER ALERT) The twist? He is an alien (one of his abilities is to process alcohol 50 times faster than humans).

Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler, Alex Hernandez and Kirby, formerly known as Kirby Howell-Baptiste, also appeared in the first season.

In the second season, Sugar finds himself back in Los Angeles taking on another missing person’s case while continuing to search for answers surrounding his missing sister.

The series was created by Mark Protosevich, who, among other things, has written films I am a legend And The cell. He was also showrunner for the first season, but was replaced by Sam Catlin, who was previously AMC’s showrunner preacherfor season two.

Catlin will serve as producer under his Short Drive Entertainment banner alongside Farrell, Audrey Chon, Simon Kinberg, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich.

We can’t wait to get John Sugar back on the case.”
