ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE) – October is here and that means the Balloon Fiesta is upon us from October 5th to 13th. Lara Brockway from Visit Albuquerque has a list of things happening in the city during the Balloon Fiesta.

The city of Albuquerque is officially opening the long-awaited slide near Tijeras Canyon

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center events

• October 5-15: The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is busy throughout the Balloon Fiesta. There will be cultural dances every day, an arts festival and a special program to celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival

• 11th–13th October at Sandia Resort and Casino. Guests can see and shop from 200 artists at the festival. Attendees can also enjoy live music, performances, and local food and drinks.

Greek festival

• October 4th – 6th in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. The community is invited to celebrate Greek culture. The festival features authentic food, dancing and music. Guests can also purchase Greek gifts, jewelry and more.

Thanksgiving Day

Bruja festival

• October 11th – 12th at EXPO New Mexico. Fans of all things witchy and mystical can enjoy the festival full of vendors, workshops, tarot readings, crystal healing, performances and more. There will also be a marketplace where guests can browse unique handmade goods, jewelry and art.
