Predicted Juventus vs RB Leipzig lineup: Champions League

Juventus will be looking to pick up another three points in the UEFA Champions League when they take on Bundesliga side RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena.

The Old Lady scored a 3-0 win against Genoa in the Italian Serie A. Dušan Vlahović bagged a brace while new signing Francisco “Chico” Conceição scored a late winner to take home all three points.

Thiago Motta’s first Champions League game on the sidelines went as planned: Juventus claimed a 3-1 win over Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. The former Bologna coach will look to carry his unbeaten streak from Italy’s top flight – three wins and three draws without conceding any goals – into the midweek game against a strong Leipzig side.

Juventus’ key players such as Gleison Bremer, Teun Koopmeiners, Dušan Vlahović and Nicolás González were all in the starting lineup against Genoa at the weekend, but Motta cannot afford to rest any player while the Old Lady needs points in the new league phase.

Goalkeeper: Michele Di Gregorio–The 27-year-old has kept four clean sheets in Serie A, with his last goal coming in the opening Champions League game against Juventus’ PSV.

RB: Pierre Kalulu– The versatile defender is crucial to Juventus’ defense as he looks to score at right-back.

CB: Gleison Bremer–Bremer remains one of Italy’s best central defenders and will be hoping to continue his recent good form.

CB: Federico Gatti– Motta has revealed that he chose Gatti at centre-back over Danilo at centre-back to form alongside Bremer, and that theme should continue against Leipzig too.

LB: Andrea Cambiaso–Although he can play higher up, Motta has opted to use Cambiaso at left-back, alongside other players who better fit his attacking approach.

DM: Weston McKennie– The American was given a chance to catch his breath against Genoa, but should return to midfield alongside Locatelli.

DM: Manuel Locatelli–Locatelli played just under 70 minutes at the weekend and should be fresh enough to start in the middle of the park.

RW: Nicolás Gonzalez– Like Locatelli and Yıldız, Motta took off both key players before the 70th minute to protect them and keep them fit ahead of the upcoming Champions League clash.

AM: Teun Koopmeiners– The Dutch attacking midfielder is the star and is Juventus’ primary creative trigger in attack.

LW: Kenan Yıldız– The 19-year-old winger hopes to score another fantastic goal like he did against PSV to lead the Old Lady to victory.

ST: Dušan Vlahović– The former Fiorentina striker is slowly gaining momentum after scoring a brace at the weekend. He will look to keep the momentum going at the top and do his bit for Juventus.
