District governors meet in the nation’s capital

The summer holidays are over and it’s once again time for the AHEPA family to get back to work! This past weekend, representatives from across AHEPA’s domain came to Washington, DC to attend the AHEPA Family Leadership Conference and discuss plans for the coming year.

The weekend began with a welcome party hosted by the Sons of Pericles Supreme Lodge and the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge at local Greek restaurant Zorba’s. The AHEPA family members had the opportunity to meet and greet each other while enjoying mezze and the late September weather.

On Saturday, Supreme President Tsivicos opened the Governor’s Seminar for AHEPA. After a welcome and welcome by Executive Director Basil Mossaidis, Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson took the reins and led the program for the duration. They discussed plans for the coming year, membership initiatives and more.

Saturday evening brought attendees to the roof of the Ven Hotel on Embassy Row, where they enjoyed a buffet-style dinner under the stars. Supreme Vice President Kaitson and DOP Grand President Margaret Dritsas opened the high-profile event and thanked everyone for attending one of the most successful leadership conferences in recent years.

The weekend ended with services at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sophia, next door to the AHEPA global headquarters. AHEPA Washington Chapter #31 and DOP Hermione Chapter #11 hosted a coffee hour to welcome all visiting members of the AHEPA family
