The City of Atlanta Department of Watershed Management has lifted the boil water advisory issued on September 29th. A boil water advisory put in place for residents and businesses in several cities remains in effect after an outage at the Adamsville pumping station.

Customers in parts of Atlanta from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive south of I-20 to the City of Fairburn, the City of South Fulton, Chattahoochee Hills, Palmetto and Union City may have little or no water pressure.

Officials with the Atlanta Department of Watershed Management say they will follow sampling protocols and lift the advisory when it is safe to do so.

Residents were asked to avoid using the water to allow time for system pressure to rebuild.

If you need to use water for drinking, cooking, preparing baby food, brushing your teeth, or washing your hands before preparing food, you should first boil it for one minute before cooling it. Officials also suggest using bottled water.

Authorities say tap water used when showering with soap should be safe for basic personal hygiene.

This notice applies until further notice.
