While the vice presidential debate is often a lesser-watched event, this year could be different given the growing interest in JD Vance and Tim Walz and the tight race between Harris and Trump.

Can I watch the Vance-Walz vice presidential debate for free if I don’t have cable?

Yes. CBS is moderating the debate – and all four networks plan to broadcast it live, as does PBS. A radio antenna is required for radio monitoring. And you should definitely test these devices in multiple locations around your home to find the most reliable signal.

How can I stream the vice president debate online if I don’t have a cable subscription?

If you don’t have an antenna, CBS will stream the debate online on many platforms, including Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7 (Other networks are also likely to broadcast the CBS stream on their website.)

Dish Network’s Sling’s lower “Orange” plan will set you back $40 per month. Adding the more comprehensive “Blue” plan increases the cost to $55 per month. The seven-day free trial is gone, but the cord-cutting service is offering 50% off your first month’s bill.

DirecTV stream

Formerly known as DirecTV Now, AT&T TVNow and AT&T TV, this oft-renamed streaming service costs $80 per month and up after the free trial.

Fubo TV

This sports-focused cord-cutting service operates broadcast networks in most markets. There’s a seven-day free trial, followed by monthly fees of $80 and up depending on the channels you choose.

What are the rules for this vice presidential debate?

The moderators will not fact-check the candidates in this debate, but the microphones will remain on so the candidates can fact-check each other. However, CBS reserves the right to turn off these microphones.

There will be no live audience at this debate and the candidates will not make an opening statement. And only moderators can ask questions. There will also be two commercial breaks, although candidates will not be allowed to consult with their staff during these periods. The candidates have two minutes to make their final speech.

Who will moderate the vice president debate?

When is the next debate?

There are currently no plans for another debate, either between Vance and Walz or between Trump and Harris. Harris has pushed for a second meeting of the presidential candidates, but Trump has said he will not attend.
