Goldie Hawn, who was with her partner and fellow actor Kurt Russell for more than 40 years, was recently asked by E! News What it takes to have a long-lasting romance – and she gave a pretty piquant, if direct, answer.

“You’ve got to have good sex,” the star of 1992’s “Death Becomes Her” told E! last week. “Because sex is something that connects and creates more belonging. People who have healthy sexual relationships tend to last much longer. But it’s not just because of the performance, but also because of the warmth and intimacy it creates.” Then she jokingly added: “You have to be nice to each other every now and then.”

Although Some couples thrive in sexless or low-sex relationships – especially if the couple is asexual, has a low libido, or the couple places greater value on other aspects of their relationship – for many this is not the case.
