Suspect identified and charged with second-degree murder after killing 19-year-old in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The suspect in the killing of a 19-year-old in Lynchburg has been identified as 33-year-old Nathaniel Pridemore, according to LPD.

The 19-year-old was identified as Cash Gaudio of Lynchburg.

Authorities say that during the course of the investigation into this incident, it was determined that a welfare check was necessary at Pridemore’s residence. An adult female was found dead during a welfare check in the 1400 block of Tunbridge Road.

A child involved in the incident is safe and will soon be reunited with his family.

Pridemore is currently being held without bail at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail on the following charges:

  • Second degree murder

  • Use of a firearm

  • Endangerment of children through criminal acts

  • Discharge of a firearm in the city

  • Discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle

  • Reckless handling

  • Convicted felon in possession of a firearm

LPD says one man is dead and a person of interest has been arrested following a shooting in Lynchburg on Monday.

At 3:45 p.m., Lynchburg police and firefighters responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Fairlea Court.

According to police, an adult male was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where he later died from his injuries. LPD also said a person of interest has been arrested and there is no active threat to the public.
