For 75 years, the Coosa Valley Fair has marked the beginning of fall for residents of northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama.

The fair opens Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m. with a Grand Opening Special, allowing carloads for $10 (no cars or vans and cash only).

There are also $30 wristbands for unlimited rides.

The flower show, home economics, photography and art exhibits open at 5 p.m., as does the Coosa Valley Village building.

The main event on opening day is the Coosa Valley Fair Cheerleading Exhibition & Spirit Competition, which begins at 7 p.m

Other attractions include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show and Michael Frisbee Magic, both with performances at 6 and 8 p.m

You can watch the World of Wonders show at 7 and 9 p.m

Known as “Fall’s Finest Festival,” the fair has been continuously sponsored by the Exchange Club of Rome since its founding in 1949.
