Forecast for Monday: Unseasonable warmth continues

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – High temperatures of 91 degrees are forecast for Monday. The record high temperature, set just last year, is 96 degrees. Regardless of whether we are slowly approaching the record, equaling it or even breaking it, the last day of the month ends with an unusually good result.

Although the weather will be unseasonably warm in Lincoln, we will begin to see a cold front move across the state. As a result, temperatures will plunge into the 70s across much of central and western Nebraska. Eastern locations continue to trend in the mid 80s to low 90s.

However, a combination of gusty winds and low humidity creates favorable conditions for fires to spread quickly. Therefore, a warning is in effect across much of Nebraska.
