Names of suspect and deceased man released in Lynchburg shooting; Woman was also killed

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – Lynchburg Police have released the name of a man killed in Lynchburg as well as the name of the suspect.

Cash Gaudio, 19, of Lynchburg, was killed in Monday’s shooting in the 100 block of Fairlea Court.

Nathaniel Lee Pridemore, 33, of Lynchburg, was arrested and faces the following charges:

  • Second degree murder
  • Use of a firearm
  • Endangerment of children through criminal acts
  • Discharge of a firearm in the city
  • Discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle
  • Reckless handling
  • Convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Lynchburg police had conducted a welfare check at Pridemore’s apartment at an address other than the address where the shooting occurred, in the 1400 block of Tunbridge Road. According to police, a woman was found dead in this house. Her name and connection to the suspect have not been released.

A child involved in the incident is safe and will be reunited with his family soon, according to police.

Police say they are not seeking any additional persons of interest and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Pridemore is being held without bail at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
