Frances Bean Cobain and her husband, professional skateboarder Riley Hawk, have welcomed their first child together.

Frances, the daughter of rock singer Courtney Love and the late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, announced online on Saturday (September 28) that she and Hawk – the son of famous skateboarder Tony Hawk – are welcoming a baby boy named Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk brought to the world.

The 32-year-old new mother announced the baby was born on September 17, writing online: “Welcome to the most beautiful son in the world. We love you more than anything.”

In the black and white series of photos shared online by Frances, the newborn is seen holding his mother’s hand, while in another Hawk is seen hugging his son. Another picture shows the baby wrapped in a blanket with his eyes closed.

Frances then re-shared the images and added the song “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)” by John Lennon.

Many of their famous friends and family have sent congratulations to the couple online, with the child’s new grandpa, skateboarding legend Tony Hawk, writing: “My favorite grandson!”

Zelda Williams, daughter of late actor Robin Williams, added: “Ahhhh! Congratulations!!!!”

Harper Grohl, the daughter of Kurt’s former Nirvana bandmate Dave Grohl, simply shared teary eyed and love heart emojis.

Frances first revealed her romance with Hawk in 2022 when she returned to Instagram after a year off to share pictures of him sitting next to a Christmas tree and smiling at the camera while holding a small dog. Another photo showed the couple on vacation with Tony Hawk and his wife Catherine Goodman.

“I wanted to share a few moments captured/created over the past year that have brought me great joy,” Cobain wrote in the caption at the time.

“2021 has brought me more into the present moment than ever before, for which I am deeply grateful. We hope 2022 is full of authentic connections, warmth and deep self-discovery for everyone.”

Confirming their relationship, Riley commented: “Happy New Year my love!”

At the time, fans of Tony and Kurt praised the connection, with one person writing online: “If they had a child, their grandparents would be two of the biggest icons of the ’90s. Crazy.”

“Daughter of 90s guy of all time is 2nd most dated with son of 90s guy,” another person said.

The couple married in October 2023 in an intimate Victorian-style ceremony officiated by REM frontman Michael Stipe, Frances’ godfather.

Frances was previously married to musician Isaiah Silva. She filed for divorce from the singer in March 2016, less than two years after the couple’s wedding in June 2014.
