A found-footage horror film so disturbing that fans are having trouble watching it to the end is now available on Prime Video

Horror fans have called the found footage film “The Taking of Deborah Logan” so disturbing that it’s a “struggle to watch it to the end.”

Whether a horror film like Immaculate revolves around a dangerous ghost or a house break-in like The Strangers: Chapter 1, fans of the genre will always find something that sends a chill down their spine.

However, there is one subgenre within the world of horror films that seems to creep people out: found footage films like The Blair Witch Project. They make the audience feel like they are in the film themselves.

One project in this category – “The Taking of Deborah Logan” – takes this style of filmmaking to the extreme, so much so that some viewers may find it difficult to sit through to the end.

The film is about a trio of film students who want to make a documentary about Deborah Logan, an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s who lives with her daughter Sarah.

What begins as a normal interview-style film quickly turns ominous when the students realize that Deborah is exhibiting strange behavior that is constantly being swept under the rug by her doctors and Sarah.

When the group realizes that Deborah is under the control of a dangerous supernatural presence, they must decide whether to continue with the documentary or save Deborah before it’s too late.

The film deals a lot with occultism, cannibalism, body horror and the real effects of Alzheimer’s disease on a person.

Not surprisingly, some people feel too uncomfortable to stay until the end credits. One Reddit user wrote, “I find the first part of the movie much scarier/more disturbing than the rest. So disturbing that I almost stopped watching it.”

Another commented: “I usually hate found footage movies but this one was really good. It was really well done and I think it’s what a found footage movie SHOULD BE.”

A third viewer highly appreciated the film on the horror subreddit: “It’s much better than some of the other found footage recommendations here.”
