Verizon service has been restored to more customers after more than 100,000 outages were reported Monday

Service has been restored to more Verizon customers after thousands reported a loss of signal on Monday.

Downdetector, an organization that monitors website outages based on user reports, says 13,400 Verizon outages have been reported as of 5:30 p.m. That’s down from 104,000 at 11:45 a.m

Cincinnati was among the cities with the most reported outages, along with Columbus and Indianapolis.

“Verizon engineers are making progress on our network issue and service restoration has begun,” the company wrote in an X post at 5 p.m. “We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience some of our customers may have experienced today. “We continue to work around the clock to fully resolve this issue.”

The company did not give a cause for the outage.

The Federal Communications Commission wrote in an X post at 2:25 p.m The Commission was aware of the Verizon outage and is working to determine the cause and extent of the service disruptions.

As of 1:17 p.m. ET, Downdetector received approximately 55,000 more service problem reports than normal, down from over 100,000 the previous day.
