Police investigate shooting at Richmond apartments: 1 dead, 1 injured

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – One man is dead and another injured after a deadly shooting at a Richmond apartment complex.

On Saturday, just before 10 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of Ruffin Road for reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound down in the parking lot. He was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Malcolm Coleman. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

During the same time period, police were also informed that another adult male victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police determined he was also injured in the same shooting at the Ruffin Road apartment complex.

The investigation into this incident continues.
