Schools remain closed after Hurricane Helene

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Some school systems across our region will remain closed Monday following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

Below is a list of closures:

  • Appling County Schools remains closed until further notice.
  • Bacon County Schools remains closed until further notice.
  • Beaufort County Schools will have an e-learning/remote day on Monday. All extracurricular and extracurricular activities for Monday are canceled.
  • Bryan County Schools remains closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Bulloch County Schools remains closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Candler County Schools remains closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Effingham County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Evans County Charter School System remains closed Monday to Thursday.
  • Glynn County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Georgia Southern University remains closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Glynn County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Hampton County Schools will have an e-learning day on Monday.
  • Jasper County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Jeff Davis County Schools remains closed Monday to Wednesday.
  • Liberty County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Long County Schools remains closed until further notice.
  • McIntosh County Schools remains closed on Monday.
  • Savannah Chatham County Schools will close school operations on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Savannah State University remains closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Savannah Technical College remains closed Monday and Tuesday. The college plans to open Eckburg Auditorium to the public for use of AC power, electricity and Wi-Fi on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • The children’s village remains closed on Monday.
  • Toombs County Schools remains closed Monday to Wednesday. Tentatively, teachers will report on Thursday, October 3rd and students will return on Friday, October 4th.
  • Wayne County Schools remains closed until further notice.
