There you have it, folks. The Colorado Rockies play their final game of the 2024 season this afternoon against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Luckily it’s her last. Unfortunately, they have lost 7-2 in their last nine games after starting the month on September 8th and 7th. They have been outscored 68-40 in that span and have been outscored 24-6 by the Dodgers in their last two games.

Oh, and last night’s loss was the Rockies’ second straight 100-loss season.

The 2024 season was unforgettable, but perhaps the offseason will be different. Charlie Blackmon’s resignation could be the first domino to fall.

Ryan Feltner (3-10, 4.66 ERA) will take the ball for the final time this season after a pregame ceremony honoring Blackmon. In his final game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Feltner pitched six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, six strikeouts and one walk. He has faced the Dodgers five times in his career (four starts) and has a 1-2 record and a 7.36 ERA against them.

Feltner will face Dodgers lefty Anthony Banda (3-2, 3.14 ERA). In his last game against the San Diego Padres, Banda threw 1 ¹⁄₃ scoreless innings of relief in Thursday’s NL West Division decisive game, 7-2.
