New York Jets rookie and former Wisconsin running back Braelon Allen had a cryptic reaction to his alma mater’s 38-21 loss to USC on Saturday.

Allen seemed to indicate that he was in a post on

I’ll keep my mouth shut for now, but one day you’ll see me on a podcast where I’ll explain exactly what went on in my last season there 😂😂

The 20-year-old spent all three years of his college career at Wisconsin before being selected by New York in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a member of the Badgers, Allen accumulated 3,494 rush yards and 35 touchdowns, including 984 yards in his 2023 season. It’s worth noting that his final season at the school coincided with head coach Luke Fickell’s first full year at the helm of the team.

Wisconsin finished the 2023 season with a record of 7-6 and lost to LSU in the ReliaQuest Bowl.

After scoring 230 runs in his second year, Allen only ran the ball 181 times in his final season. There seemed to be a disconnect between Fickell and his role in the offense, especially after he allowed just seven runs in a loss to Washington State in the Badgers’ second game of the year.

“He’s disappointed, he obviously wants to touch the ball a lot more and feels more than just selfish, he feels like he can do more,” Fickell said of Allen the week after the loss Nick Kosko from On3.com. “And I agree with him. He can have a bigger impact, but you know, the opportunities that come our way are something we all have to take advantage of.”

As for his NFL career, Allen has already carved out a role for himself in New York’s offense. His involvement increased each week, as he rushed for 55 yards on 11 attempts during the Jets’ Week 3 win over the New England Patriots.

Allen also became the youngest player to score since 1930 in a win against the Tennessee Titans on September 15.
