Broncos RB Tyler Badie (back) was carried away on the backboard

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – Denver Broncos running back Tyler Badie was placed on a backboard by medical personnel and taken on a cart to the team’s locker room early in the second quarter against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

On a reception for minus-4 yards on the Broncos’ final play of the first quarter, Jets linebacker Quincy Williams tackled Badie from behind when Williams’ helmet hit Badie in the lower back during the play.

Badie went to the bench after the game and held his hand behind his back. In the bench area, Broncos medical staff had Badie lie on a backboard and strap him down before taking him away in a cart.

The Broncos said Badie suffered a back injury and was out for the remainder of the game.

Badie, who spent the entire 2023 season and the first three weeks of this season on the Broncos’ practice squad, was promoted to the active roster this week. He came into the game with 86 yards on 10 carries.
