While the Bucs received some bad injury news They got good news on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning before they play the Eagles. Pewter Report has learned that nose tackle Vita Vea will be active today.

With Vita Vea active in Week 4, the Bucs’ defensive line will receive a much-needed boost as it looks to stop Eagles league-leading running back Saquon Barkley and contain mobile quarterback Jalen Hurts. Vea suffered a knee injury in the second half of the Lions game in Week 2 and missed last week’s game against the Broncos.

While Tampa Bay’s pass rush has struggled to bring down the quarterback this season, last week showed how much they were missing the big guy under center. None of Greg Gaines, CJ Brewer, Mike Greene or Ben Stille generated much pressure in the middle and even in a limited capacity, Vita Vea adds that in a big way and will look to get Cam Jurgens fit in the middle.

You probably shouldn’t expect Vea to get 59% of the defensive snaps like he did in week 1. Still, any snaps with him are a plus for Todd Bowles’ defense last week.
