Week 4 Colts vs. Steelers Game Open Thread

The Indianapolis Colts are at home and face the Pittsburgh Steelers in their fourth game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.

This week, the Colts’ struggling offense faces an elite Steelers defense. To call this an uphill battle would be an insult to anyone who has ever had to fight uphill. I’m not saying the task is impossible, because anything is possible in the NFL. But at the same time, the Colts are missing several starters on defense, including Kenny Moore and Kwity Paye. On offense, the Colts will have to do without center Ryan Kelly and use a 22-year-old rookie in Tanor Bortolini in his place. Kelly’s absence could completely change the way the Colts’ offense needs to operate, as neither Bortolini nor Anthony Richardson are likely to be willing to announce offensive line adjustments before coming off the bench. Against most teams this would just be a problem, but against this Steelers line with Cam Heyward and TJ Watt this could be an absolute disaster.

It could be. Or we could all be surprised by a great overall team performance that keeps Indy competitive in all four quarters. However, keep this in mind would be a surprise. Nothing we’ve seen so far should lead us to believe that this team is ready for such a feat. So keep that in mind in the comments below. We can hope for a win, but I’m telling you not to expect it this week. This is not the week to expect Anthony Richardson to “recover” from the worst two games of his career so far. Today could get really, really ugly. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
