Playing EA Sports College Football 25 gave Alabama defensive back Zabien Brown some clairvoyance.

After the Crimson Tide’s dramatic 41-34 win over Georgia on Saturday, Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams revealed that Brown called his game-winning interception as they played the video game on Friday.

“So this morning I was like, ‘Bro, you wanna catch a pick?'” Williams said, according to ESPN’s Chris Low. “And he said, ‘Of course I’ll try that.’ Next thing you know, he has the game-winning interception. I thought, ‘Man, we did it.’ I screamed. This caused me to lose my voice because I was screaming.

It was Williams’ incredible 75-yard touchdown that gave the Crimson Tide the lead with just over two minutes left, and Brown then secured the win by fending off Georgia quarterback Carson Beck in the end zone on the ensuing possession.

It’s a testament to Alabama’s recruiting and program as a whole that two freshmen in Williams and Brown made the best plays of the game of the year to this point.

Williams is only 17 years old, but that didn’t stop him from making six catches for 177 yards and the game-winning touchdown. And Brown recorded six tackles, a tackle for loss, a pass deflection and the interception that sealed the dramatic win.

It didn’t look like the Crimson Tide needed the crucial plays for most of the game.

They built a commanding 28-0 lead early in the second quarter and took a 30-7 lead into the halftime locker room after a safety. Still, Carson Beck threw three touchdowns in the second half, the last of which went 67 yards to Dillon Bell, giving the Bulldogs the lead with just under two minutes left.

It just looked like the Bulldogs would emerge from the SEC matchup with a road win that would have repercussions for the rest of the season.

On the first play from scrimmage after Bell’s go-ahead touchdown, Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe threw a deep ball to Williams. The talented freshman made a leap and a contested catch, then spun past two Bulldogs defenders and ran the rest of the way for the memorable touchdown.

Brown then secured the win with the pick as Georgia marched down the field to potentially force overtime.

Just like they invented it while playing the video game.
