Kalen DeBoer charges at the officials after a bad pass interference call

Kalen DeBoer’s Alabama team had a dominant first half against Georgia. At halftime, the Tide had a 30-7 lead over the Bulldogs.

Although things were mostly going well for DeBoer’s team, the coach was still angry after an apparent missed call.

Late in the 2nd quarter, Jalen Milroe threw a pass intended for Germie Bernard. However, Georgia’s Daniel Harris appeared to make contact with Bernard long before the ball arrived. No penalty was called for apparent pass interference, and DeBoer was beside himself.

DeBoer ripped off his headset, jumped up and down and threw his game sheet. By the way, the headset in question was allegedly broken.

Going after the referees with a 23-point lead is a very Nick Saban-esque move by DeBoer. DeBoer is usually calm and collected, so seeing the coach react like that was unexpected, to say the least.

While this play didn’t go the way the Tide wanted, almost everything else did. At halftime, Milroe had completed 19 of 21 passes for 199 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. The QB also added 106 yards on the ground with 2 scores.

Alabama’s defense also gave Georgia a tough time. Carson Beck completed just 8 of 17 passes for just 98 yards with 2 INTs. Alabama managed 355 yards of total offense in the first half, while Georgia only had 178 yards.

With a win, the Tide would still be in perfect shape for the season as they aim to return to the College Football Playoff.
