MLB playoff picture: Dodgers clinch No. 1 seed; Updated Bracket and Wild Card Rankings | News, results, highlights, statistics and rumors

The Los Angeles Dodgers secured first place in the National League.

After winning the NL West on Friday, the Dodgers secured first place in the NL thanks to the Philadelphia Phillies, who lost 6-3 to the Washington Nationals on Saturday. By securing the top seed in the NL, Los Angeles will now have home field advantage throughout the postseason.

Following Saturday’s results, here’s a look at the current playoff round as the end of the season approaches.

No. 3 Houston Astros vs. No. 6 Kansas City Royals

The final days of the regular season won’t be too exciting in the American League as the Yankees, Guardians and Astros have already won their division and the Orioles, Tigers and Royals have previously secured wild card spots.

The biggest race to watch is between Detroit and Kansas City, where positioning will be fought over.

The top three teams in the National League have also been determined and the Padres have secured the first wildcard spot. The Braves, Mets and Diamondbacks are all still fighting for a spot.

To make things even more interesting, New York and Atlanta will play a doubleheader on Monday, a final matchup that could ultimately decide their playoff fate.
