Over the years, no one has been a greater provocateur of the Ohio State football program than Desmond Howard. The former Wolverine takes shots at the Buckeyes at every opportunity. He almost never picks them to win a big game in the Big Ten, and he never picks them to make the four-team CFP.

Howard is the best home run guy you can possibly be. While he always plays Ohio State in big games, he never faces Michigan. Last week he did so for the first time in the show’s history. It even surprised his College Gameday co-hosts.

Howard is back shooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He has to bring her down somehow because he can’t talk about her play on the field because it was impeccable. Instead, he targeted Ohio State University’s non-conference schedule.

As for Ohio State’s schedule, Howard says the Buckeyes “took the whole month off” when referring to the first part of their schedule. It’s true that the Buckeyes had an easy start to the year, but it’s great coming from someone who supports Michigan because they do that more than any other school.

Last year, Michigan played East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green on its non-conference schedule. This is arguably worse than what the Buckeyes have played this year. Ohio State also typically plays a key non-conference opponent each year. This is the first time in a while that they haven’t.

Howard’s criticism doesn’t matter. Ohio State appears to be one of the best teams in college football, while Michigan can barely throw a forward pass. He needs something to criticize about the Buckeyes, knowing Michigan won’t be in the College Football Playoff this year.
