The 2024 Heisman Trophy race is in full swing and some of the top candidates are seeing some upheaval.

On3’s national experts have been closely watching some of the biggest games of the season and have begun to look for consistency from week to week. Today they are putting together their poll of the top 10 candidates.

Each of the five national experts submitted a ballot of their top ten players, and we compiled the results to create a full ranking with points – 10 points for first vote, nine for second, etc. Let’s get into how How the rankings developed can be found below.

Last week was a great week for Hunter and this week he managed to top it with an even more impressive performance. Hunter also gets it done on both sides of the ball.

This week, Hunter had seven catches for 130 yards on offense while posting three tackles and a game-winning forced fumble on defense. Elite in every sense of the word, and he takes the top spot this week after checking in at #6 last week.

Ward falls off the top spot, but only by a hair. His actual score from a week ago barely dropped, falling just two points. And that’s because Ward continues to impress.

Miami was in a competitive game against USF early, then Ward turned on the afterburners and the Canes pulled away easily. Ward threw for 404 yards and three touchdowns despite throwing his second interception of the season. He also ran for 43 yards.

Alabama had this weekend off, so Milroe didn’t have a chance to improve his stats. But he will get the chance to play a statement game this week Georgia on tap.

Through the first three games, Milroe has scored two rushing touchdowns in each game. He also threw for 590 yards and eight touchdowns. Keep it up and he’ll be a Heisman Trophy finalist.

The Boise State running back had a significantly lighter workload Portland Statesaw just 11 carries after scoring at least 20 in the first two games. However, he made the most of his touches.

Jeanty ran for 127 yards on those 11 carries. That’s exactly in line with his season average of 10.5 yards per carry, a staggering average. If this continues, it will be difficult to keep him out of New York.

Few Heisman Trophy candidates have had a relatively easy time staying out of conference like Dart did at Ole Miss. Apart from a road trip to Wachwaldno one has managed to even come close to slowing down the rebels. And even that was a 40-6 win.

Dart put up big numbers with 1,554 passing yards and 12 touchdowns with just two interceptions. Dart currently leads the nation in passing with nearly 30 yards per game.

Iamaleava doesn’t necessarily put up huge numbers every week, but he has mostly made the right decisions for the Volunteers and shown a maturity beyond his years. Tennessee appears poised to keep winning, which means Iamaleava will continue to be the talk of the Heisman Trophy.

This season, Iamaleava now has 892 yards rushing and seven touchdowns, with two interceptions. He also ran for 117 yards and a touchdown and is a threat with his legs.

Ewers missed his first game with an abdominal injury. Depending on how long he is out, this illness could significantly impact his Heisman Trophy chances.

Still, Heisman Trophy voters likely won’t forget Ewers’ near-flawless performance in a road win at Michigan. This will get him on the hunt if he can become active again in a short period of time.

It’s hard to take on a Heisman Trophy winner, especially when you also lose two first-round picks at receiver. Nussmeier has made it seem like child’s play so far. He was effective all season.

On Saturday, he had a 352-yard day against it UCLAa season high. He threw three touchdowns and didn’t throw an interception. This brings him to 13 touchdowns and two interceptions this season.

The Michigan cornerback is one of the country’s lockdown candidates. Many teams don’t even try to throw to him. USC did it on Saturday and regretted it when Johnson recorded his second interception of the season and returned it 42 yards.

Johnson missed the team’s last two games against the Trojans and coach Sherrone Moore confirmed he had a minor injury. Whether this injury slows Johnson down at all remains to be seen.

It’s not easy sharing the backfield with one of college football’s best players, but Mullings has done just that. And he really did a remarkable job. He outshone Donovan Edwards through the first four games.

Mullings had his biggest workload yet against USC, running 17 times for 159 yards and two scores. He also caught a pass for two yards. This season, Mullings has already amassed 429 yards rushing with four touchdowns – an average of more than 100 yards per game.

Washington State is off to a 4-0 start, and Mateer helped preserve that by rallying in a double-overtime game against Washington State San Jose State on Friday evening. Mateer puts up absurd numbers and could be the most productive dual-threat quarterback in the country.

So far, Mateer has thrown for 1,102 yards and 11 touchdowns with four interceptions in four games. That’s strong. Then there are his 425 yards rushing and five scores on the ground. He does everything for the Cougars.

There are a handful of players right now who could make a case for finishing in the top 10 of the Heisman Trophy poll, but they’ll need to do more to prove their case in the coming weeks. Beck will get a chance this week with a big showdown against Alabama. Finally, a few players at the skill positions will be put in the spotlight with Smith and Sampson – both of whom have had outstanding seasons.
