Minecraft reveals a new mob, The Creaking, and I’m terrified of it

If you like Minecraft because it is a cute and peaceful game, then we recommend that you do not interact with the new biome or the mob lurking there that was officially revealed at Minecraft Live 2024.

The Pale Garden is a spooky biome that can spawn in the overworld and features extremely pale grass and gray trees. The good news is that the trees can be transformed into pure white wooden planks – something fans have wanted for a long time. The bad news is that these trees are guarded by something more sinister.

The Creaking is one of Minecraft’s scariest mobs, and I can already tell he’s going to scare me every time I venture into the Pale Garden. They function similarly to the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who in that they only move when you aren’t looking at them, but when they do they are quite fast and charge straight at you.

Although it may seem easy to fight a mob that freezes when you look at it like that, it is completely immune to direct attacks. If you hit it instead, a particle effect will appear, leading you to a special block hidden in the trees. If you destroy this block, you will destroy the creaky one.

The Mojang team has promised that it will be added to Minecraft in Snapshots very soon once the mob’s design and behavior is refined. This comes following the team’s announcement that they would be releasing it more frequent Minecraft updates that focus on one or two features rather than an annual update that includes a lot of things.

Additionally, the Bundles & Bravery update is now available, adding bundles after several years of development, and Hardcore Mode is finally available in Bedrock Edition.

This isn’t the first time Minecraft has designed a mob specifically to scare players. The Almighty Guardian is one that many people prefer to avoid, and I can safely say that I will not venture into the Pale Garden unless absolutely necessary. However, the white wood is worth it.
