    College football scores, games, updates: Kentucky at Ole Miss, Minnesota at Michigan and more

    The biggest game of the season (so far) is just around the corner.

    No. 2 Georgia will face No. 4 Alabama on Saturday night in the first top-five matchup of the season. It’s the last of four ladder matches in Week 5.

    Here are the biggest games of the day. Follow along as we break down all the action below.

    Time: 3:30 p.m. | TV: Peacock | Line: Notre Dame -6 | Overall: 45.5

    The Cardinals earned a statement win against the Irish at home a season ago. And it’s fair to wonder if Louisville is better this season than it was in 2023. Former Oregon and Texas Tech QB Tyler Shough has been very good so far this season, completing over 68% of his passes for eight touchdowns and no interceptions. Notre Dame is still hoping Riley Leonard can complement its dominant four-game running game through the air, despite injuries along the offensive line.

    Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: NBC | Line: Penn State -18 | Overall: 47.5

    The Illini defeated previously undefeated Nebraska in overtime in Week 4, marking just the third time since 1951 that Illinois has won its first four games. A big reason for this is the improved play of former Ole Miss QB Luke Altmyer. Can he keep up on the road against Penn State? Against the Nittany Lions, opposing QBs only average 144 yards per game.

    Time: 7:30 p.m. | TV: ABC | Line: Georgia -1.5 | Overall: 48.5

    This clash of perennial playoff teams features two Heisman contenders at quarterback. No QB is responsible for more TDs per game than Alabama’s Jalen Milroe, and Carson Beck was considered the favorite for the award for much of the offseason. Beck’s 2024 season hasn’t lived up to the Heisman hype, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Beck have a big game.

    Time: 10pm | TV: FS1 | Line: Boise State -7.5 | Total: 64.5

    Washington State is on the precipice of the AP Top 25 after a 4-0 start with wins over Texas Tech and Washington, and QB John Mateer is the winner. But the Cougars’ defense is allowing nearly five yards per carry – that’s an appetizing statistic for Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, who leads the country with an average of 10.5 yards per carry. There’s a reason he’s the non-QB with the best Heisman odds (+2000) at BetMGM.

      The Wolverines had a 10-point lead after a short field goal with 4:33 left.

    • Great Britain gets the ball back with a deficit of 4

      Ole Miss can’t get anything going and has to send it back to Kentucky.

      It’s 17-13 and there are just under 5 minutes left in Oxford.

    • Minnesota makes comeback bid

      We have a development in Ann Arbor. The Gophers scored early in the fourth quarter to cut the two-touchdown deficit, then Koi Perich did some work with a 60-yard punt return. Minnesota scored soon after, cutting the game to one point.

    • Interception K-State!

      OSU quarterback Alan Bowman throws his third interception of the game, this time to KSU’s Jacob Parrish, who makes a nice, contested pick in the end zone.

      This is the end of the third quarter. Kansas State withdraws.

    • K-State touchdown

      The Wildcats may have just ended this game early. Avery Johnson finds Will Anciaux at the goal line on a diving pass, giving the Cowboys a three-point lead.

    • Touchdown Ole Miss!

      The Rebels are finally back in the end zone, and in dramatic fashion. Jaxson Dart hits Tre Harris on a gutsy fourth-and-7 throw and Harris sprints through the UK defense for a 48-yard gamebreaker.

      Ole Miss leads 17-13 as the third quarter comes to a close.

    • Kentucky takes the lead again

      The Wildcats found some success in the air before their drive stalled just outside the red zone. But with a made field goal they are back in the lead.

    • The referee blocks massively in the event of an accident

    • Interception K-State!

      OSU’s Alan Bowman makes another crucial error and throws the ball directly to KSU’s Marques Sigle, giving the Cowboys their third turnover of the game.

    • Ole Miss gets to the point

      The Rebels made the score 10-10 on their first possession of the second half.

      The Wildcats’ game plan so far has been clear: run, run, run some more. Will one possession be enough to topple Ole Miss at Oxford, or will they have to blow up to hang on?

    • Kansas State touchdown!

      After a quick three-and-out from OK State, Kansas State takes over and DJ Giddens sprints through the OSU defense for a 66-yard touchdown.

      That’s 153 rushing yards for Giddens just two minutes into the second quarter, and the Wildcats have a 28-13 lead.

    • We’re back for the second half of Ole Miss-Kentucky and OK State-Kansas State. The Rebels and Cowboys start with the ball in their respective games.

    • Halftime: Kansas State 21, Oklahoma State 13

      Both teams were able to move the ball quite well in the first half. The Cowboys seemed intent on getting Ollie Gordon going early, but then reverted to a pass-first offense when they fell behind.

    • Halftime: Kentucky 10, Ole Miss 7

      The Wildcats controlled the clock in the first two quarters (nearly 22 minutes of possession time) and the result is a lead at halftime.

    • Touchdown Kentucky!

      The Wildcats took the lead as the first half ticked away in Oxford. It was a methodical 13-play, 81-yard drive by Kentucky, capped by a pass from Brock Vandagriff to Dane Key. It took 5:30.

      Kentucky is up 10-7 with 27 seconds left in the first half.

    • K-State touchdown!

      The Wildcats get another score, this time Jayce Brown catching a deep pass from Avery Johnson for a 55-yard touchdown.

      Kansas State now leads 21-13 with just over three minutes remaining in the half.

    • K-State recovers fumble!

      OSU QB Alan Bowman is unable to correct a botched snap, and Kansas State makes up for it.

      There are five minutes left in the first half in Manhattan.

    • Baylor is running a deficit

      The Bears woke up a bit in Waco after BYU’s hot start, but still trailed by two touchdowns at the end of the first half.
